How To Make It In America

I got to see the premier pilot episode of “How To Make It In America” (a new series from HBO) and I must say I’m very interested to see how this show is taken by the general public and how it grows into a show. From what I saw I liked it very much, not from a standard television show aspect but from being involved in the creative and apparel industries. It seems like the show will have lots of references and storylines based around fashion and street culture which makes for great television as far as I’m concerned…as long as things stay on track from what I saw from this first episode I look forward to seeing much more of “How To Make It In America”.

A Day with 3sixteen by Sarah Krusen

I really wanted to try and post something other then a video today but this is one of my favorite brands and another really good video so here it is…

Bleu de Paname

I keep telling myself to post things other then videos but I cant help it. I love a well made video having anything to do with this industry and this is yet another one. Hopefully you guys enjoy them as well! This one is a little teaser video from a denim company, you can check out their site here Bleu de Paname

Grafica Fildalga

I came across this video on CoolHunting.com and thought I would share. Being that I own and operate a screen printing shop I love seeing this stuff. Its awesome to see these guys have passion for what they do and stick to their roots using letterpress the same way it was used when the technique was created.

BillyKirk

I came across this video from TheScoutMag.com and wanted to share. I have personally never heard of this brand but its a brother duo who together are producing what looks like very nice hand made leather goods. I always love getting to see behind the scenes of great companies like this and I figured you might too!

Lessons from a Tailor

This is a great video that I discovered a while back and posted it on an online magazine I ran. I recently came across it a second time and decided to share here. The cinematography is great and it is awesome to see behind the scenes in a cut-n-sew factory of this prestige. Martin Greenfield is one of the best of the best and you can see it in this short documentary.

Directed by Galen Summer. Cinematography by Ed David. Summertime Productions.

Viberg Boot: Down to the Brass Tacks

So this morning I was over at Inventory  Magazine and while I was looking around I came across this video/interview they did with Viberg Boots. Its a great video so I figured I would share.

What is World Class Rivals?

Welcome to the WCR blog! Here we will be posting updates on our brand as well as other things we find interesting within the industry. Be sure to check the blog often because we will also be running some contests, showing sneak peaks and other things leading up to our release in Spring 2010.

Ok so what is World Class Rivals? WCR is a brand that I have been wanting to do for a long time now. I have had the concept and ideas for a couple years but never had the time to put into it. I run a screen printing shop as well as a full service marketing and brand development firm and we do a lot of work within the apparel industry. Im going to be taking the knowledge I have picked up over the years with my business to build a clothing brand of my own. Im very excited about this project and you can expect big things!
